Information about the assessment

Robotics and Automated Systems:

Your manual must include the following:

  • Documentation associated with the building of your robot (group photographs and annotations). This must also be accompanied with an explanation of the control processes and affected actuators

  • Video of the robot demonstrating the use of the sensor

  • An investigation in an extension of the use of the sensor with regards to other Lego Mindstorm projects and an explanation of sensors role and function (web video)

  • An investigation of the use of the sensor in industry. The application of the sensor but in an industrial context, not domestic or commercial. E.g. Manufacturing (web video/web photographs)

 

Due Dates:

  • Light Sensors: Tuesday 17th October 2017

  • Motion Sensors: Tuesday 24th October 2017

  • Audio Sensors: Tuesday 21st November 2017

  • Touch Sensors: Tuesday 28th November 2017

The Lego Mindstorm NXT allows you to design and build your own programmable robot. It has a range of features, and its functions are up to your imagination. The possibilities are endless! There are many different types of sensors in the Education Pack, and this user manual seeks to clarify your concerns.
